I don't think it's so much that relationships are overrated. I think it's just that many people expect a lot out of them, but very few are willing to put forth the effort to make it worthwhile. Not to mention that thanks to movies, tv, and other social views of what a relationship should be skews our opinions of what we're getting ourselves into whenever the chance arises. All we can be sure of is that in the end, we all want someone that we can just be with and that in itself will be enough to make us happy. No complications, no strings attached, just a meaningful connection that can only be explained by some cosmic force that brought the two together at the right place at the right time. Sort of like a fairy tale I guess...as we all know, there's no such thing as a perfect relationship. But oh, the thought of one is ever so nice. Sorry, I'm on a comment rampage tonight.
I heart you. Will you go out with me? Hahaha, I'm really kidding. Really. You are totally right, of course. Damn our generation and our lazy ways. The other problem in relationships is one person putting forth ALL the effort and the other person not doing anything. I have been on both ends...but that's beside the point. The point...the point is that it makes me feel better to say they are overrated and blame it on something other than my own laziness and/or ability to begin a relationship. I do wish I could get one going though.Deep down, don't we all??
I don't care how much angst someone claims to have. Everybody needs somebody to love...*singing* someone to love. A sweetheart to miss, a sugar to kiss *end singing*Oh Blues Brothers, I shall always love your bluesy songs.Anyway. I'll end this before I get insightful again :)
